Just as she did in New Leaf, Isabelle acts as the player's helper. She's the first to introduce the player to their camp and helps the player begin to understand the basics of the game (how to control the game, decorating your camp, explaining crafting and amenities).
After the tutorial, she can be found at the Market Place with the Beginner's Guide and Goals (which can also be found on the right side of the screen).
