Go to your town plaza and you’ll find a countdown clock and Redd selling hats and poppers. Your fellow secretary Isabelle will give you a New Year present like sparkling cider.

You'll hear a beeping sound before 12 midnight so you will not miss the celebration. Exactly 12 midnight, the countdown clock will show 2 huge party poppers. There will be New Year greetings too.
Redd, will have a booth in your town plaza during this event. He will sell New Year's hat for 300 Bells each. He's also selling party popper for 300 Bells.
