What is villager's requests?
Villager's requests basically is one way of getting Bells or Items in Animal Crossing games. Some village request requires specific equipment to fulfill. It's the Main Quest system of the game.
Why should I respond?
Accepting Villagers request will help you to progress further into the game, including increasing friendship levels with the villagers. Highly recommend not to accept the request if you can't do it (do not turn them down). And based on previous AC games after declining a request from a villagers will make them come right back and make a better offer for the request.
